Looks great, hope everything goes well...

Top Notch, Hope Guerilla delivers on the gameplay!Just for the record, KZ1 was a good game, everybodys just follow magazine reviews,play it for yourself, and you'll see that even reviewers are wrong sometimes,
just like most of them don't like Too Human, but some 360 players are eating it up, I tried the demo,CRAP,CRAP,CRAPPITY,CRAP!

KZ2 FTW!

Is this still March 2009?

And, FPS level designers need to inject a little bit more creativity. The generic warehouse level is getting a bit overdone.

Nothing against the ps3 because i ain't no fangirl, i am just a gamer! But this game looks like a generic, modern FPS and nothing more.

Nothing innovative or origional jumps out at me in any of the KZ2 vids that i have seen since E3, and that is kinda dissapointing!

I expected more from this game, we'll wait and see though when the game releases because it can only truely be judged then.

@Bookshelf

Do you still play Killzone?

Posted by Bookshelf - Thursday, July 24, 2008 2:55 PM
generic? no haze and halo3 is generic. i think this has a unique feel to it as well as not being too absurdly different. and on top of all of that, being the best looking fps thus far. I think killzone 2 will set the new bar for visual quality. And will be one of those games that will bring out the true strengths of the Playstation 3 like MGS4 did.

and guys.. don't use the excuse that the first one sucked means this one will too... there have been plenty of franchises that made their second installment truly shine over their first. Let's just hope its not one of the franchises that fail to look at their mistakes in the first one...

^^ thank you ^^

@deathsdelivery
no im with you, i highly enjoyed the first killzone, graphically it was WAY ahead of its time.
@sps
ok, so this is generic? do you know what the word generic means? KZ2 is the best looking fps ever made, like bookshelf said, and it looks a whole lot better than gears of war 2. I cant even imagine what its gonna look like in full hd on the lcd. If something has never been done before...it cant be generic, buy a thesaurus or something

lol

looks like a graphically improved cs: source assault map. no creativity whatsoever.

listen to the lousy voiceovers. worse than haze!

check out that bad ai.

omg, this game is gonna bomb!

Posted by staychisel - Thursday, July 24, 2008 3:55 PM
@bookshelf, didn't you recently admit your n00bness and play killzone 1 for the first time?

Posted by T_Bone_1976 - Thursday, July 24, 2008 4:07 PM
@pumpkinpunker

Gears 2 looks completely different than Gears 1 right? No it doesn't. It looks like Gears 1 only with new finishing moves. The E3 demo showed unrealistic physics and an unbelievalbe scene where an elevator still worked in a building that collapsed sideways. I also thought that the fire effects were meh. And it had less than stellar voice acting. "Look a Brumak. Are you ok?" It's ok though, even when it's determined that it isn't the second coming of third-person gaming, all you fanboys will eat it up. You're all a bunch of sheep.

@staychisel

n00bness?

Posted by Bookshelf - Thursday, July 24, 2008 5:48 PM
@staychisel
n00bness? how is n00bness buying the game, and beating it in a 3 day span? sure i bought it a little late but i still pwned it and the story is still fresh in my mind. I'd say that's pretty hardcore to go out and buy the first one just to get ready for the second one.

I remember playing it at a friends how back when it first came out, but that was before i cared about First Person Shooters on consoles. Now that I'm a lot better with the sticks, it makes playing fps's on consoles a little more enjoyable.

Posted by xeno975 - Thursday, July 24, 2008 6:09 PM
i hope they make the A.I super hardcore.. kinda like COD4 but CoD A.I was kinda easy too iono i just hope they make so i cant just run up and gun.

To all fanboys above SHUT THE @#$% UP!!!!!!! Graphics do not define a game. Game play does. Any one who has played a last gen console knows this(PS2,Xbox,Gamecube). Yet you guys would bash a game for improving the game play but not the graphics(Gears of War 2)or praise a game with good graphics but f'd up gameplay or controls(Too Human and every PS3 game out there besides MGS4). Gimme a break. I'm 17 years old I've been playing games since I was 5 years old but this whole Graphics vs. Game play debate has run its course since the 3D era. Game play will always make or break a good game. Graphics are just the icing on the cake. I've played the first Killzone It SUCKED. Killzone 2 will LIVE or DIE based on its game play because in the end that’s all that matters. That's all I gotta say on the subject. GOODBYE!!!!!!

This game in no way looks better than gears2!

If you PS3 fans had a 360 then you would be able to download the gears 2 vids in HD on live along with about 80 something other HD gametrailers and gameplay vids on XB live, and then you would see for yourselves...

As for those of you who have a 360 go download those vids! You don't know what you're missing, PSN don't have all of that E3 content does it?

And if it does, than good for you guys.

@sps
HAHAHAHA! omg! u think your impressive somebody with 80 videos on xbox live! Dude, PS3 has just as many for FREE! Just shut up please, you making yourself look like a fool! Please know what ur talking about before you say it!

Whoever said Gears 2 looks the same as Gears 1 is absolutely ridiculous. No, it does not look the same. It definitely has improved, both graphic and gameplay wise. I should know because I've been playing Gears since the first day almost daily.

@ Thundercracker
"no im with you, i highly enjoyed the first killzone, graphically it was WAY ahead of its time."

You must be joking, ever heard of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom 3? All these games overshadowed Killzone 1, nobody I know even heard of it. Why? Because it was not good...

One more thing, Kimyumoto couldn't be more correct. If 22 years of video gaming experience has taught me anything, gameplay is FAR more important than graphics.

Posted by WhereAmI1980 - Thursday, July 24, 2008 8:22 PM
why am I not surprise to see haters...

@sps73

and I own both a PS3 and 360, there are some games you can't compare in terms of graphics.

R2 looks excellent, as does Gears 2... but i think the graphics is a matter of opinion.
MGS4 looks better then both.;)

Well I guess what I'm trying to say is that unlike most people, I won't have my head stuck up my ass and I will be enjoying a good November with both R2 and Gears 2. so flame on...

@myself
oh crap, I meant K2, sorry...

Posted by GreenQuadrant - Thursday, July 24, 2008 8:28 PM
Killzone 2 looks freakin' awesome but they're not fixing that horrible AI! I have to say that I'm losing interest in this game because Gears of War 2 as well as other games that's coming out for the Xbox 360 this year has stolen more of my attention. I'm going to have to postpone purchasing the PS3.

I'm a fan of the first killzone. It wasn't great, but it did have some really great moments. It just couldn't get everything to work the way it was supposed to. As for KZ2. I have to agree for now that it does look like a generic shooter, but the thing is that we've only seen about 10 minutes of game play. It's too premature to say things like that. But, just like everyone else, I too hope that the game isn't a string of warehouses and industrial complexes. I'm thinking a sweet greenhouse for nationwide food supplies. That'd be awesome.

Posted by magopus6 - Thursday, July 24, 2008 9:44 PM
the only that bugs me about the video is that it seemed too quiet. the shooting and fighting in this level seems similar to halo online in the fact that it was a quiet firefight. i like being enveloped in a fps. now i know the trailer and the first gameplay footage sufficed wonderfully for the overall battleground style feel. but i hope this improves. maybe because they were in a warehouse. another thing was the enemies seemed to move very clunky and plodding. anyway im just nitpicking because it looks great, i just the gameplay to be stellar more than anything.
